San Vigilio di Marebbe

San Vigilio di Marebbe, called Al Plan de Mareo in the local Ladin language, sits in the middle of Val Badia, in the heart of the Dolomites. Its typical mountain architecture and Baroque church which towers over the centre of the town gives it a fairytale appearance, and it is no coincidence that it is the setting for the famous saga of the Kingdom of Fanes.
San Vigilio is at an altitude of 1201 metres above sea level in a heavenly zone between the Plan de Corones-Kronplatz ski resort and the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park.
Where nature is unspoilt the food can only be natural and delicious too. In Val Badia you can discover the typical delights of traditional Ladin cooking like "liagnes sciömiades” (smoked chamois sausages), “gnoch da zigher” (goat's cheese gnocchi), “crafuns mori” (fried pastries) and many more besides.
In the summer you can also buy many specialities straight from the producer at the typical farmers' markets.
